We drove through the
Scottish Highlands today, up to Loch Ness and Fort Augustus. The
highlands are absolutely amazing! I'm sure there's no place in the world
quite like it. You can see the enormous mountains and valleys carved out
by glaciers all those millions of years ago. And to imagine the Scots
living these thousands of years ago is truly amazing. |

The Loch Ness lakeside location
In keeping with it's original use as a fort the abbey is surrounded on three
sides by water, the abbey is set on the southern end of Loch Ness in twenty
acres of beautiful mature garden grounds which extend right down to the
shoreline of Loch Ness. The Caledonian Canal forms the western boundary and the
river Tarff forms the eastern boundary. Loch Ness is just 20 minutes drive from
Inverness and there are excellent road, rail and air links into the Highland
capital.
Highland Club Facilities
These include a tennis court and cricket pitch, with the Boathouse restaurant
situated within the grounds. Once the renovation of phase two is completed, an
indoor swimming pool, spa facilities, and a club room with full sized snooker
table will be for the exclusive use of Highland Club residents and visitors. The
lovely, picturesque village of Fort Augustus is only a couple of hundred yards
